Cammi Schuler is a violinist and music educator from Northeast Ohio. Raised in a music-loving family, she began playing both the piano and violin at a young age. She studied with private teachers throughout high school and beyond, and completed Units 1-4 of Suzuki Teacher Training in 2019 and 2021 under the guidance of Linda Steig, Pat D'ercole, and Amanda Schubert.

At 16, Cammi started her own violin studio, which grew into a thriving, joyful community of 40+ students, ages 3-65, over the next 7 years. In August 2021, she attended a Zoom workshop for teachers by Crystal Boyack, where she was introduced to the Wee Violin curriculum. Over the following two years, Cammi incorporated Wee Violin into her studio. In June 2024, she traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to attend the first teacher training course for Wee Violin instructors.

Now based in Brecksville, OH, Cammi teaches students primarily ages 3-8 in both private and group lessons, using a blend of the Wee Violin and Suzuki methods. Outside of teaching, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, traveling, cooking, and discovering new cheeses.

The Overview

Every teacher needs a supportive community to thrive, and I’ve been fortunate to have many inspirational people who have shaped the teacher I am today. Some of these individuals I’ve met, while others I have not, but each has played a key role in my ongoing metamorphosis as an educator.

My first introduction to the Suzuki Method came from my childhood teacher, and it was this experience that sparked my desire to teach. Dr. Suzuki and his philosophies had a profound impact on me, and I consider it a privilege to put his teachings into practice. More recently, I’ve been deeply inspired by Crystal Boyack and her Wee Violin program, which combines movement, singing, and play in a remarkable violin curriculum for young students.

My core teaching philosophies are as follows:

Play. Children learn best through play, and I strive to ensure that every lesson includes an element of play, which leads to joyful and natural learning.

Joyful and natural learning. Learning can and should be free from tears, tantrums, and negativity. I am dedicated to creating a positive, nurturing environment where my students can succeed.

Singing. To develop well-rounded musicians with a solid foundation, I believe in the power of learning our first instrument—our voice—alongside the violin. Singing helps train young ears and opens the door to exploring music from around the world while building basic violin skills.

Movement. Incorporating movement into lessons helps young children develop muscle control and rhythm, both of which are essential for successful violin playing.

A village. Children need a supportive community to succeed, which is why I involve parents or other caregivers in lessons and home practice. Group classes are also a vital part of the learning process, as children need peers to motivate and encourage them.
