Wee Violin Lessons
Wee Violin lessons offer a joyful first step into music for young children. Through songs and games inspired by folk music from around the world, students develop solid technique, aural skills, and a lifelong love of making music. Wee Violin students seamlessly transfer into Suzuki Book 1.

This is the Wee Violin™
The Wee Violin™ is the perfect way for young children to begin their musical journey. It helps students develop excellent posture, beautiful tone, and early musicianship skills—all through playful, age-appropriate learning.
Best of all, Wee Violins are included in your tuition, so there’s no need to rent an instrument during the first few months of lessons! After foundational skills are developed, students will move to a real violin, and there are lots of affordable rental options.
This is a Wee Violinist
Wee Violin lessons are musically immersive and playful, which yields joyful and confident violinists.

This is a Wee Violin™ Parent
Parents play a vital role in the Wee Violin™ journey! Children learn a love of music through their parents’ example, which is why parents are encouraged to actively participate in class activities and support practice at home. Attending lessons together becomes a wonderful opportunity to learn, grow, and bond through music.
And this is me...
your Wee Violin teacher!
I LOVE teaching kids the violin. I love seeing the joy on their faces when they realize they are musicians, and I love watching the bond that grows between parent and child during lessons. I am committed to helping EVERY child and family succeed, with joy, love, and patience.

The Wee Violin Philosophy

Play
Children learn best through play, and I strive to ensure that every lesson includes an element of play, which leads to joyful and natural learning.

Singing
To develop well-rounded musicians with a solid foundation, I believe in the power of learning our first instrument—our voice—alongside the violin. Singing trains the ear and opens the door to exploring music from around the world while building violin skills.

Joyful & Natural Learning
Learning can and should be free from tears, tantrums, and negativity. I am dedicated to creating a positive, nurturing environment where my students can succeed.

Aural Learning
While all my students learn to read sheet music proficiently, they begin with aural learning. Just as we learn to speak before we learn to read, it is important to first develop the ear and train it to recognize the sound of beautiful music.

Movement
Incorporating movement into lessons helps young children develop muscle control and rhythm, both of which are essential for successful violin playing.

A Village
Children need a supportive community to succeed, which is why I involve parents or other caregivers in lessons and home practice. Group classes are also a vital part of the learning process, as children need peers to motivate and encourage them.
